Hello there.

The name is Taylor, but most people just call me "Tay".

I am one of the newest additions to the "Certifiable Wench" family and I thought it would good idea to let our readers in on what makes this newbie tick.

And since I'm notoriously bad at introductions, so I will give you all a quick list about me.

(Which makes sense since the average blog reader merely scans over the articles they read, stopping only for the things that catch their eye.)

I am..

* 29 years old chick. (Girl, Woman or Ma'am just didn't feel right.)

* reside in Sunny California, where I have spent countless hours in youth by a ghetto blaster (slang for boom box, for those that don't know) listening to KROQ, in between pretending to do household chores.

* married to a charming geek named Sarah. I married a "Star Wars" geek -- God help me!

* a person who has a odd fascination for coffee cups. Shot glasses? No thank you. A coffee mug with every color of rainbow and a random saying thrown in just because... Yes, ma'am. :)

* a person who drinks a pot of coffee a day. Do not attempt to talk to me unless I have a cup of my steamy java goodness otherwise, I may black out and wake up around random body parts. I'm just sayin'..

* a child of the 80s and DAMN proud of it. I do not see it as something that I should be ashamed of or embarrassed of.

* an active list maker. Groceries, Wish List, Bucket List.. I haven't met a list that I didn't enjoy making.

* a frustrated author that has been working on the same book for the last 8 years. It had been had nick-named, "The Never ending Story" for this reason.

* currently learning to deal with being "Bi Polar", a mental illness that causes massive mood swings -- and generally alienates you from your friends and family.

* obsessively in love with "Halloween".

* currently working my way through every cheese ball 80's/90's horror film that I can find on youtube. If you have any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

* a lover of films - With my heart belonging to Horror, B-Movies, Cult and Musicals. An odd combo, I know, but I love them.

* a person who walks around with their headphones permanently placed on their ears. I'm of the mind set, music makes everything better. Laundry, Sex, Babysitting, Driving... It all can be intensified by the right sound, genre or sound.

* a person who consistly walks into walls and falls on their ass in the middle of a busy mall.

* a person who has a deep/fascination for anything "Supernatural" --- Though I cannot get on board with all the Twilight madness. **Shakes Head** Not my bag at all.

Hello, all! I'm new around here so I figured I'd introduce myself :)

My name's Eliza, I'm 21, and I live in RI. I am a voracious reader who is obsessed with music and I go to more concerts than I should. I have a really cool boyfriend, I love going out and trying new restaurants, and in my spare time I cook, make jewelry, collect coins, I'm starting a postcard collection thanks to postcrossing.com, and I watch a lot of movies and old tv shows.

I'm interested in many, many different things, so I hope I can bring something fun and different to this blog. I think the first real post I make here will either be a concert review (I'm going tomorrow night) or a book review (I'm about halfway through a really great one).

Another New Girl

Hello! I'm Janelle, yet another newbie with yet another introductory post, but you might as well k now what you're in for with me.

I'm a 20 year old college student. I live about an hour south of Pittsburgh, PA, in the lovely Fayette County that most often makes the news for various forms of violence, drug busts, & most recently a mysterious wild cat (presumably a lion) that has been wandering my hometown. However, at least during the school year, I spend most of my time in the somewhat tamer city of Greensburg, on my small, quit college campus.

My major is writing with a focus in journalism & my ultimate goal is to get into music journalism. So, a blog based around pop culture in a perfect fit for me.

My tastes in everything are pretty varied so it's hard to nail down any favorites. Like Jenna, I am a huge fan of both Lost & Netflix. I'm also a big fan & supporter of the local music scene, so I'll be posting a bit about that.

I'm still working on my first real post, but I look forward to doing it & more in the future.

Hi! I'm Jenna, the newest of the newbies. I'm terrible at introductions, but I figured one was in order. Hate to just show up and start talking, that's kind of rude, eh?

I was born and raised in the wintry wasteland of Vermont, six miles south of the Canadian border. After college and a few years on the dwindling VT journalism scene, I got sick of being cold and moved to Savannah, GA. I migrated slightly north to Hilton Head, SC for a job. HHI is most definitely not my favorite place, but living five minutes from the beach does not suck.

I'm a bit of a space cadet, but only in a good way. I have an ever-shortening attention span and a tendency to get distracted pretty easily. Which makes pop culture the perfect medium for me, as nothing ever lasts for very long.

I couldn't live without music, and I wouldn't live without movies. I am looking forward to the new TV season, and I'm sure I'll have gone out of my mind by the time Lost finally comes back on in January. It's mean how long they make us wait for that. In the meantime, I'm catching up on shows I didn't get around to the first time with Netflix (i.e. the greatest invention of all time).

My first post is already written, and it's about cupcakes. Who doesn't love cupcakes?

Hi everyone! I am Angela, another newbie to blogging! I thought I would follow Molly’s lead and introduce myself as well.

I am a thirty something lady who lives in Metro Detroit with my husband Jerry and our cat Max. Some of my favorite things to do are cooking, baking, traveling, reading, watching movies, gardening, photography, watching baseball and basketball, and listening to music.

Some of the things I will be writing about are: foods I have eaten at local restaurants and such, recipes I have cooked or baked, and how they turned out. I may also be asking for suggestions or ideas on what to make for dinner…sometimes that is the most difficult thing to figure out! I don’t like to use recipes that call for too many, or “fancy” ingredients. I hate going to the trouble of buying one ingredient that I may only use once a year. I will also be writing about current events, Michigan attractions, movies, books, my annoyance of the day, and anything else that may strike my fancy.

Introductions are in order...

Hello, fellow wenches! I'm Molly, the new blogger on the block. I figured introductions were in order, so here you go.

I'm a recent college grad, a pop-culture junky, and a huge movie fan. I made independent films with my husband under the banner Apartment 2B Films. I'm super into b movies, from 50s giant-bugs-eating-cities drive-in flicks to 70s grindhouse and 80s cheesmo horror.

I'm also a bit of a music nerd, starting from my wee child years but blossoming in my hideous punk rock teenagerdom. I have a fairly large obsession with Ben Folds and love 70s rock and 80s alternative. I still have a soft spot for the music of my youth (90s pop punk and ska). However, most of my love goes out to teenybopper and bubblegum pop. So basically: everything from the Allman Brothers to the Jonas Brothers.

Here are some of the things I will probably be writing about: movies I've watched, music reviews, Appalachia, outsider art, politics, feminism, theology, and puppies. Definitely interested to see the sorts of discussions that will come up from the heavier issues (but also for the puppies - for instance, what's your favorite breed?).
